Finding unique collectibles and gifts - Connie Sicotti Oil Lamps

Doesn’t it seem that with each year, it gets harder to find that unique gift that makes a person say, “Wow”.  “Where did you find that?”  Most of the items we see are found in multiple stores and it becomes more difficult in obtaining a hand-crafted item that looks appealing.  It is easy to shop for someone when you know what he or she is collecting.  Knowing what to purchase ahead, no doubt makes it easier to shop for and can make shopping more enjoyable.  Starting someone on a collectible is a great way to make future buying easier. 

There are many collectibles today however we have found and interesting idea in Oil Lamps.  One would not initially think of collecting such item, however today you can find so many unique kinds, hand crafted by artisans and as beautiful as enjoying a new piece of jewelry.  You can find many styles of oil lamps and sizes, however the most unique ones we found, was with Connie Sicotte Designs.  Each year, she adds to her collection and each are truly desirable for many kinds of people.  These make an exotic gift with a reasonable price.  In Connie Sicotte Designs, the vessels are usually made of either glass, hammered copper, metal, red clay from Bulgaria or mouth blown glass from Solvenian or Russia.  Each of her pieces are so interesting in design and have an extra added top piece ranging in glass beads, cloisonné beads or have an animal figurine such as a frog, bee, butterfly, hummingbird, turtle or elephant.  So for those that already collect animal figurines, this is a great gift idea. 

The Oil Lamps can come in all kinds of unique shapes, like a shape of a perfume bottle, genie bottle or vase.  The ones we have found with Connie Sicotte are approximately 6” tall, which makes a nice size to display wherever you choose. 

Where these are displayed is endless.  The collector will add to the collection on a tabletop or shelves.  Create an ambiance by adding one to your romantic dinner setting, bedroom table, or treat yourself to a lighted area when relaxing in a bubble bath.  These also make great gifts to friends, new homebuyer, mothers day gift and anniversary.  Whatever you do, this will surely make an impressionable gift and of course a keepsake for the collector.
